One of the most important lessons I have learned in my Christian walk is that God has given us each a gift that we are to explore, perfect and utilize for His glory. One of the biggest challenges which came from this lesson is figuring out how to do that!
My gift is the use of humor in the communication of thoughts and ideas. For most of my life this gift has been used selfishly as a stand-up comedian performing in night clubs and bars making strangers laugh for the sole purpose of generating a profit with hopes that it would one day lead to fame and fortune.
After surrendering my life to Christ I learned that Jesus had a different plan for my life. He tends to do that.
Over the past ten years I have been searching for venues in which to perform comedy and deliver my testimony. I have been blessed to have performed at music festivals like Spirit West Coast in Monterey and San Diego and at Spring Celebration in Santa Clara. I performed on the KLOVE cruise and in churches all over the West Coast. But as much as I enjoyed these venues and realized the impact of my ministry it didn’t really feel much like a ministry as much as it did a Christian business. I believed I was capable of doing more with my gift and continued praying and studying the scriptures for the answer.
In 2015 my first book was published by Crosslink Publishing. The Road to Selfdom went on to sell dozens of copies…OK, maybe hundreds but not close to the number I was hoping for. I was still searching for the ministry which would satisfy my desire to use my talents to truly make an impact in this world and one that I can with confidence present to any audience. That’s when I was introduced to Compassion International.
A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed. — Proverbs 11:25
Compassion International exists as an advocate for children, to release them from their spiritual, economic, social and physical poverty and enable them to become responsible and fulfilled Christian adults. Through sponsorship of children around the world we can help poor, sometimes homeless children get the food, medical care, education and biblical education that will help them thrive. It is my desire to not only sponsor a child but to encourage others to do the same. For this reason I have partnered with Compassion Intl. as an Ambassador, a spokes-comedian as it were to take time during my shows to share my experience with sponsorship in hopes others will be encouraged to do the same.

As an Ambassador with Compassion International I have the opportunity to present Churches with two options.
Compassion Comedy Night
With a Compassion Comedy Night I will come to your church and perform an hour of stand-up comedy while presenting the Compassion message of impacting children living in poverty through the loving act of child sponsorship. This can happen at your church, at a designated venue outside the church or even in the parking lot.
Compassion Presentation During Sunday Worship
The second option is an opportunity to take time in your Sunday worship service to present the Compassion message to your congregation. If stand-up comedy is not a fit for your organization, I understand. The message of lifting children out of poverty doesn’t need to be presented with comedy because the message stands on its own.
1 John 3:17-18
17 But whoever has the world’s goods, and sees his brother in need and closes his heart against him, how does the love of God abide in him? 18 Little children, let us not love with word or with tongue, but in deed and truth.
I will come to your church and present this message to your congregation and give people an opportunity to share in the joy of God’s work of helping others thrive.
