Sharing laughter is like sharing a meal. It is an intimate experience which is both personal and corporate which generates conversation and encourages new relationships to form. Even a random sampling of strangers together for the very first time unite in the audience experience, each agreeing spontaneously with the relate able content of the performance.
Laughter is Medicinal
Paraphrasing Proverbs 17:22 it has been said that laughter is the best medicine. Don’t take my word for it, just read what the Mayo Clinic staff had to say on the subject!
Every comedian I know has a story about an audience members telling us after a show how much they needed to laugh because of the burdens in their lives. The sincerity of their gratitude is at times overwhelming. What a gift laughter is to share with people!
Comedy is Great Outreach
Inviting the community to a comedy event is a great way to get to reach people who shy away from church for whatever reason. It is an opportunity to deliver a strong message that we are joyful in the Lord, welcoming, and eager to meet you if even just for one night. Laughter is like a Rototiller which breaks up the hardened heart making people much more receptive to hearing the seed of truth you seek to plant.
Comedy Events are Affordable and Easy
A stage, a microphone, decent lighting and an audience is all you need. I will provide the artwork for the fliers, a video to show a few weeks prior to promote the event in your church and local advertising with radio call-in’s to make sure that your community knows when and where the event is taking place.
Compassion Comedy Event is 1 hour of comedy with a powerful message of how we the church can follow Christ’s command to help those in need through child sponsorship through the Compassion International ministry. There is a reduced charge for this show if you allow me to ask your congregation to sponsor a child.
Christian Comedy Night is 1 hour of comedy which will have your church talking about all year. Pricing is dependent upon travel and lodging needs but I will promise one thing, I will work with your church to make it fit within your budget. I never say no to an opportunity to perform for God’s people. After all, this gift belongs to Him, I’m just using it for a while.
